After purchasing your license and receiving a safety orientation, it's an approximate 30 minute ride to the hottest halibut fishing spots known only to locals. You will receive approximately 2.5 hours of fishing during this excursion. The waters of Icy Strait are teeming with halibut, making angling conditions ideal. Icy Strait is known for its' abundance of marine life, be sure to bring your camera and plenty of film for once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities.
Chances for catching fish are good, however not guaranteed. Minimum age to participate is 6 years old; children under 13 years old are required to wear a life vest while onboard the vessel. Deck or rubber soled shoes must be worn on the boat. Bring warm layered, waterproof clothing. Alaska State Law requires a valid one-day fishing license; bring cash for the $20 fishing license and the $10 King Salmon stamp (seasonal). Custom packing is available for an additional fee. If you land a fish and choose not to release it immediately you are responsible for processing and shipping the fish home. Please read and understand the information provided by the tour operator before catching any fish. Shipping is not available outside the continental US. We regret that fish cannot be stored on board the ship.
