Your local guides will describe the many plants and animals that inhabit this temperate rainforest and tell of their importance in maintaining the delicate balance of a healthy ecosystem. Your tour includes the opportunity to view a bald eagle nest constructed atop an ancient spruce tree. Keep your eyes open for the other land and marine mammals that are found in the area. Upon your return to Icy Strait Point, you will gather at the Heritage Center Theater for the Tribal Dance. Performing and dancing in their traditional regalia, the Huna Tlingit will share their history with you through interpretive song, dance and storytelling. This is your opportunity to absorb the rich history and local culture and join in a traditional celebration.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended as this tour includes approximately 30 yards of walking (not required) over uneven terrain. Your wheeled tram will be traveling over remote trails, and the roads will be bumpy. Please do not photograph or videotape the performance. Performers will be available for photos immediately afterwards.

Why do I have to choose a cruise line?
All cruise ship guests are encouraged to book their tours at their cruise lines' websites prior to arrival. We allocate all of our departure times and space to the cruise ship that is in port for the day and control all sales until they arrive at Icy Strait Point.
