My Tlingit name is Chaak Tlaa (Eagle Mother). I belong to the Kaagwaantaan (wolf) clan. “I feel very fortunate to be a part of Icy Strait Point,” says Julie Jackson. As a shareholder and local Tlingit she has a personal investment in the company. “The success of this company benefits my children and grandchildren.”

in 1986 Jon became the superintendent for the fleet support facility for Ward’s Cove Packing Company in Hoonah, which was located at the old cannery and which is now Icy Strait Point. The shipyard closed down in the Fall of 2001 and Jon didn’t skip a beat in starting his new role as the construction manager for the Icy Strait Point project. He probably didn’t even take a day off in-between….he’s Norwegian, you know!

Linda's love affair with Alaska began almost 30 years ago when, as a young adult, she left San Francisco with a backpack and a desire to spend a year traveling the state ‘seeing Alaska.’ Her story is no different than most. She fell in love with Alaska and decided to stay. Having already become hooked on the travel and tourism industry, she continued in the same field and eventually went to work in the small cruise ship industry, which later took her away from Alaska
